I QUALIFIED FOR BOSTON !!!!!!!!

3:20:21  My marathon time for SLC  in April was 3:56 something. I took off 36 minutes in about 5 months.  WOW.

I ran with the 3:20 pace group up to about mile 23 then started falling behind, i kept them in view but it was a real struggle. I will do a full report tomorrow.

THANK YOU FASTRUNNING BLOG.

I wish I had more time to run with BBK but I my schedule did not work out that way.

I took on another challenge in my life, I started massage therapy school with my daughter. I work full time and I am going to school full time, not much time to run.

Ok the report

Let me start by thanking a few people. My wife, who ran the most important part of the race with me, the last tenth of the marathon, and she supported me as I trained over the last 5 months for the St. George Marathon, And fast running blog, I would have not able to do this without them.

Thank you.

I had a perfect start, I left the bag drop and found the 3:20 pace group and lined up with the 3:10 pace group knowing it would take me a bit to get INTO the flow with the 3:20 pace group. With in 60 seconds the race started and I started to move in the main flow. I crossed the start line about a minute after the race started and about 45 seconds behind the 3:20 pace group, my plan worked out great. I caught up with the pace group within a half mile and stayed behind and close to "Chris" our pace leader for the rest of the race, except for the last 3 miles.

24- 7:18  Blister popped

25- 8:16  Really, I am not wanting to run any farther.

26- 8:24  My wife saw I was struggling bad and came and ran with me for the last tenth.

26.2- 7:40  We did it.

As I am typing this I still am in awe about what I have accomplished. It just does not seam possible. Wow Now what?

Ran at the Jordan River Parkway, Started slow running with my wife for a mile then ran an 8 min mile pace. Very nice morning to run, I talked with a few people who had run the St. George marathon.

I am not sure but I think I might try to run one of the two hrs I have each day in between work and school.  It feels great to run.

I swam for 800 Meters. Our daughter is a life guard at the Kearns fitness center she was watching me swim after my swim she gave me some pointers which should help my form. She also could not believe how hard I was breathing, she figuarded since I run so much, and had just finished a marathon that swimming would be a breeze for me. I would recover fast at the end of the lane but I was sucking wind after 200 M of freestyle.
